Thank you to the dozen EV owners who shared their vehicles, experience, and information at the April 27, 2025 La Crosse Earth Fair. We were lucky to have good weather this year and I think we were able to bust some myths and change some minds!
Here are some upcoming opportunities to share the good word about EVs in our area:
On
June 7, the La Crosse Area Synod of the ECLA (Lutheran churches) will
host a two-day conference in Westby "For the Beauty of the Earth," and
they would like to have a small EV Show and Tell. If you are interested, please email me and I can update you as details are finalized. Tentative location and time: 206 West Avenue South in Westby on Saturday, June 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Let other EV owners know about it, too.
The WTC EV assessment program will be smaller this year due to construction. If I hear when it is I will put it at the blog site.
On August 15-16, the Wisconsin Chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association will host its Second Annual EV Road Trip,
including a Saturday, August 15 overnight at the Radisson in La Crosse.
We will probably have a reception, dinner, program or something open to
the public that evening. We will also have a Sunday morning stop in the
Viroqua area. We're still working out details. Sign up to participate
or to get updates at https://www.wisconsinevroadtrip.org/
Just a reminder - the EV tax credits are still on! Here's a list of $7,500 eligible EVs (any EV is eligible for $7,500 on a lease). And you can get a $4,000 "on the hood" credit for a used EV bought from a dealer, too (restrictions apply). Get all the details at https://pluginamerica.org/learn/federal-ev-tax-credits/2024-info/ And don't forget that you can also get tax credits for upgrading electrical systems and installing EV chargers, too.
